Welcome to BeHappy!
Meeting beautiful people, having fun, and bringing your community close
- We gather in someone's living room to co-create a one-of-a-kind get-together.
- Everyone brings something along: a passion, a talent, an idea, an activity, or simply themselves.
- Anyone can host. Anyone can contribute. Everyone is welcome.
- At most workshops or festivals, you meet lovely people you never see again. Here, we keep bumping into each other, and slowly, we build a local community together. A warm bath of good people who'll welcome you home—even when you're traveling, or moving somewhere new.
- Donations are free. Sharing is mutual. Creating is collective. Living life, fully.
What, why, how, and where?
What is BeHappy? A platform where people meet each other in real life, for creative, playful, or meaningful gatherings. Through exchange, something beautiful happens: abundance grows, inspiration flows both ways, and connections last. On top of that, participants can ask for and offer help, based on an economy of trade.
Why? So many of us are longing for something real. For an easy way to make new friends—close to home, and also when we're out traveling the world. This platform makes that possible.
People become healthier, happier, and stronger when they belong to a group, and when they spend more time doing what lights them up.
How? At a BeHappy gathering, everyone brings something to the table, and together, we create the whole thing. That's what makes every single time surprising—and it means anyone with a space (a living room, a park, a rented hall) can be the host, without breaking a sweat.
The host creates the invitation and, with one click, invites everyone nearby. The rest unfolds through what the group brings. Take a look at "Let's Play" to get a better feel for it.
Offering the host a free-will donation is a lovely way of saying thank you for the effort. We like to keep it optional—that way, it never becomes the point, and the focus stays exactly where it belongs: on truly meeting one another.
On the map, you can see who lives nearby, and on people's profiles, you'll find out what they're offering and what they're looking for. Use the chat to reach out and connect.
Where? In your living room! No fuss with expensive venues, which makes coming together beautifully simple. It's really just a matter of doing it.
In your invitation, you can mention how many people you're able to host. Whoever signs up claims a spot, so cancel in good time if you can't make it, so someone else gets the chance to go. Your garden works too, or a public space, or a rented venue. In that case, you could mention in your invitation that the rental cost will be shared among the group.
On the Map, you can see who's already a member and where upcoming gatherings are happening.
When? Whenever you like! Check the map to see if something's already planned near you, or organize something yourself, whenever the moment feels right.
Craving more ease, real connection, and joy in your life? Create a profile and become part of this movement.
It's possible. This platform is where you get to experience how. Together with you, and with others who love good encounters and new experiences, we make life a little more beautiful.

When Arthur planted a sunflower maze in Amsterdam Noord, hoping to make the world just a little more beautiful, he met Rosa.
Together, they planted trees at festivals and dreamed up playful, connecting ways to tackle the plastic problem.
Rosa loved traveling to places where Ubuntu (the South African word for humanity and togetherness) still lived at the heart of things. There, she felt at home. And in the backpacker's life too, because on her travels, gathering and having fun just... happened, naturally.
"Why is 'Ubuntu' so hard to find within my own culture?" she wondered.
Why did connection so often feel distant, with everyone sorted neatly into boxes?
Could "ordinary" life hold a way to meet people that skipped past calendars and small talk?
A way to connect with others as equals, and share the things you love, simply because they make you happy?
Rosa made a plan, and Arthur built the website.
Will you join us?
So what happens when you create a profile?
First of all, you'll meet so many wonderful people in your area—people who, just like you, love doing good things, and who understand that together, we go further than alone. And you'll join a worldwide network of potential friends who see the world the way you do.
You'll receive invitations to lovely gatherings. You get to decide how far from home you'd like those invitations to reach. And if you ever travel or move, you can simply adjust it—instantly making new friends wherever you land.
You can organize a gathering yourself, too. All you need is a place, a time, and an event created on the site. You decide how many people you're able—or willing—to welcome into your home. The participants bring the content.
You build your own community, simply by starting to organize things now and then. People you'd love to see more often, you can invite to join be happy. Those people, in turn, can invite others and organize their own gatherings. Before you know it, there are so many more ways to truly get to know the people around you and do wonderful things together—without spending a cent. At most, a donation for the host.
Overview of Be Happy Events
The BeHappy spirit means:
- Everyone is welcome, and everyone is equal.
- Wherever we can, we share food and drink as part of the gathering.
- Compensation is based on free-will donations, or actual costs.
This is a platform for meeting each other in real life. We believe everyone has something special to offer—something that inspires or delights others. We simply want to make room for that.
On the world map, you can see who else lives near you and where activities are happening. (For privacy's sake, we don't show your exact address—just roughly, so you know who's nearby.)
Use the chat function to reach out to one another, for a trade, perhaps.
Do you have something to offer someone, or does someone have something you're interested in? Send a message in the chat and see what's possible.
It goes without saying: a well-filled-out profile with a photo invites people to reach out—or to show up at your event—far more than an empty one does. (Hint, hint!)
Asking for a free-will donation as a host, or a reimbursement for costs, feels only fair to us—and it's a lovely encouragement for the person taking initiative, because every initiative is a contribution toward making this beautiful potential real.
And what about the platform itself?
If you've been using it a while and find that it's given you so much you'd love to give something back, we'd be genuinely happy to receive your donation.
