Are you craving more authentic contact, real connection, and a little more joy in your life?
Would you love to have a community of people around you, ready to share that with?
Not far away. Not just when you're off to that workshop or that festival, but solid, and close to home?
Through this website, it's remarkably easy to create exactly that. Would you like to be the one who sparks it all, but you're not quite sure where to start? Then try this:
- Take a look at “Let's play” and pick a workshop that speaks to you—or dream up something of your own that brings people together. Keep it simple. When everyone contributes something, all you need to be is the “host.”
- Invite people you like (and who live nearby). Tell them about Behappy, and that you'd love to take the lead in starting a community in your neighborhood, city, or region. Ask them to sign up, and whether they know other lovely people who might light up at this too.
- Sign up (if you haven't already) and create an “event.” Share this event through WhatsApp, Signal, Messenger, and/or Telegram with the people you'd love to see there. People need time to warm up to the idea—they often want to experience it first, before creating a profile. Be patient. Keep asking, gently, every time you see them at your events, for as long as it takes.
Once everyone is signed up, all that's left is to create an event—no more personal messages needed. A year from now, you won't even have to be the host anymore. You'll simply be invited, to lovely gatherings, with a beautiful group of people who are starting to feel more and more like friends. And if last-minute you're craving some company, chances are good that after sending out one invitation, enough people will show up to make it happen—no more relying on phone calls, no more waiting to see if anyone's free.
- On the day itself, send a little reminder to those who are coming (something like: looking forward to seeing you around .. o'clock, here's the address again just in case: (address)). Put on the coffee and tea, and get your space ready. Welcome everyone warmly, offer them something to drink. Show them where to put any food they've brought to share, and give the group a little room to informally get to know each other. And of course, start earlier if you sense any awkwardness settling in. 😉
Begin in a circle. Ask everyone to briefly introduce themselves (and for those who already know each other, a quick update on how they're doing) and to share what they've brought to the table. Then start the activity.
Afterward, share experiences together, and/or close the day with a shared picnic or potluck.
- Repeat this, and after each gathering, ask:
- Whether people would like to sign up
- Whether anyone would like to organize something themselves next time
- Whether they'd like to invite people they'd love to see more often.
Tell others you meet along the way, the ones who seem drawn to this, all about it. - Enjoy the result, and the community you helped spark into being. You've truly made the world a little richer, a little happier, and a little more connected—with your own two hands.
We wish you abundance, beautiful connections, new experiences, and a warm bedding of true, committed friendships.
